What’s NEW for the walk&change Challenge?

By 1. June 2026No Comments2 min read

It’s the beginning of June and we are close to our total walking distance results for 2025. Back then, we only had two months of challenges – May and October – and May was exceptionally strong. This time, the challenge is much tougher: fewer motivational activities, but longer. Some of our members have already told us that it’s much harder to stick to it. On the other hand, we are convinced that we’ll only make a lasting difference if we truly stick with it. If we’re not motivated by a short-term challenge where the adrenaline rush keeps us going, but when we repeatedly choose to do things differently. Only then will things change – first within ourselves and then also in the people we interact with.

Nevertheless, it’s important to us to support everyone’s motivation. And inspired by your feedback, we’ve come up with the following:

Monthly Rewards

Starting with June, we’re sticking to our plan to give away a walk4future T-shirt (costing €50 in production costs) every month, featuring one of the three slogans.

We’ll also be starting a small merch selection after all – available for pre-order. More details will follow around mid-June.

CYCLING in Summer

We logged so many kilometers in May 2025 partly because some runners and one or two cyclists also participated. This naturally adds up to a larger total.

We’ve received feedback from some participants that, due to the heat in the coming months, they’ll likely be logging fewer steps but more cycling kilometers. We don’t want to lose you, so for the period from June to August, you can also log your cycling kilometers. How to do that is detailed in the instructions on your Personal Dashboard.

GOOD PURCHASES COUNT!

Now that travel season is beginning, a time when we’ll all be discovering new things and, of course, the urge to shop is awakening, we want to make it possible for everyone to DISCOVER AND BUY GOOD THINGS WITH A CLEAN CONSCIENCE. Because that’s what we’re all about: we don’t want to spoil our enjoyment of fashion, but rather support BETTER FASHION.

And so, we now have the opportunity to log our POSITIVE PURCHASES as savings. This means: when our challenge participants discover and buy an item that’s better produced, from a small shop, a small brand, or secondhand, then they enter the amount as “savings”.

That means we’re not just counting the savings we didn’t buy in the fast fashion sector, but also the savings we invested in better quality fashion.
