DESCRIPTION:The motto 2026 is: Let’s move 1 Million Euros away from Fast fashion to better brands and small shops AND walk around the world together.\nWe want to set ambitious goals that can be reached TOGETHER. Think about it: \n\nIf only 2500 people would join and save an average of €400 until the end of the year on fast fashion buys\, we would have 1 Million € saved. It sounds much\, but it’s all in the numbers.\nWe have walked nearly 10.000km as a single person and then small community in 4 months during the first two years. If we grow and everyone walks just a little bit more\, we can walk around the world.\n\nAlone we might be powerless\, but together we can move the system.\nWe are living in a world of over-consumption. It hurts our planet\, but it ultimately hurts ourselves: \n\nbad production methods hurt the people who are producing our clothing and destroy their living environments\nbad production quality make us wear chemicals\, thus destroy our health and make clothing last less\nbad production materials turn to never disappearing waste in landfills\n\nWe can change all this by changing the way we buy fashion.\n\nwith more mindfulness for what we want and need\nwith more mindfulness for how we express our values\nwith consciously turning to small shops in our neighbourhood and better brands\n\nWhy WALKING?\n\nWalking is our tool to develop mindfulness.\nWalking is the easiest way to integrate mind and body.\nwalking is the best way to discover your immediate environment\, your neighbourhood and connect with it in a mindful way.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHow are we going to do that?\n1. We use WALKING as a tool\nto gain more self-awareness\, about our needs\, wishes and what aóur place ion the world is. \nWe walk more by leaving the car (or e-bikes & scooters) behind\, to discover our world\, our cities\, our neighbourhoods and connect with what we have HERE. \nWe track our steps in our personal challenge dashboards. \n2. We make conscious BUYING decisions\nWe combine the conscious movement of walking with conscious buying decisions. What we save by not consciously not spending on unhealthy\, low quality clothing we track in our personal challenge dashboards. \n3. Collective power\nWe publish the collective results of our new behavior. Because this is\, what it is: when we do things differently\, we will have different results. \n4. Keep motivated!\nTo help you keep your motivation high\, we will come up with something each month to reward the participants who track their steps and their savings regularly. Be it sustainable products or special events. DESCRIPTION:Fashion Revolution Day\, observed annually on April 24th\, marks the anniversary of the devastating Rana Plaza factory collapse in Bangladesh\, a tragedy that highlighted the dangers of fast fashion\, calling for greater transparency\, fair wages\, and ethical practices in the clothing industry. The movement encourages consumers to ask brands\, “#WhoMadeMyClothes?” through social media to demand accountability and a more sustainable\, equitable fashion system\, with activities extending to Fashion Revolution Week around that date.  \nIt was with the support of Fashion Revolution Austria\, that walk4future® was launched in 2024.
